Since 2000, Ideocore’s powerful insight about “pre-marketing” has helped dozens of emerging companies establish uniquely effective branding and marketing communications. Just ask and Robert will happily go on and on about the successes…\n \nTenEyck first sharpened and applied his strategic communication skills in the political arena (not including episodes of creative persuasion as a child, or trying to meet girls as a Political Science major at UC Santa Barbara). He has served in key strategic roles in more than 120 political contests that have helped elect officials such as mayors, US Congressmen, and just about every position in between. And he devised strategies to win highly contested ballot measures and public affairs campaigns. Now, as a political strategist at heart, he thinks of marketing campaigns as political battles, where audiences must be intimately understood and victory must be measurable.\n \nAnd while you might think he’d be cynical by now, he’s more excited than ever about the power of a good idea. \n \nToday, TenEyck holds his dream job. As Strategy Director at Ideocore, and with offices in Santa Barbara and New York City, TenEyck works with entrepreneurs and investors to establish and market successful lifestyle, technology, B2B, medical, financial services, and retail brands. Recent projects include: helping create a successful home telephone company brand and direct-response marketing model from scratch; launching a specialized trading exchange for a Manhattan financial services company; distinguishing a respected bi-coastal venture debt firm with a new brand focus and aesthetic; re-positioning an internet security company with leading IT professionals using humor, tv and the web; re-designing the User Interface and experience for an online bill paying assistant to make it more intuitive and “sticky.”\n \nSome Ideocore clients launches connected with the Central Coast include: Blue Casa Communications, Agility Communications, Inogen, American Riviera Bank, Skyler Tech, Estalea, Axia, Cogi, Martin Farrell Homes, La Playa Properties, FlexTic, and Consilience Wines to name a few.\n \nRobert’s strategic approach isn’t limited to business, either. An avid fly fisherman, Robert needed a way to find better spots on his local river, so he earned his private pilot’s license to get a better view. \n \nSpeaker - Jim Wolfe\nJim was born in Buffalo, New York and was one of nine children. He graduated from the University of Buffalo with a B.Sc. in Business Administration. He and his wife, Marcia, have four children and seven grandchildren. They have resided in Santa Barbara for over twenty years. \n\nJim held executive level positions in Marketing and Sales with Welch’s, Coca-Cola and Seven-Up Foods. He has done consulting work for Celestial Seasonings, Welch’s, Mott’s, Gatorade and Snapple. Jim’s most recent corporate experience was as President/CEO of the Balance Bar Company. He led the company’s growth from $1 million in sales in 1995 to $100 million in sales in 1999. The company went public in 1998 and was sold to Kraft Foods for $268 million in 2000.\n\nJim has also worked with businesses on a volunteer basis. He has been an international consultant to businesses in Poland, the Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Siberia and Kenya. Locally, he has counseled many small businesses in Santa Barbara and throughout California as a volunteer with SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives).\n\nJim’s volunteerism also extends to non-profits. He currently sits on the boards of United Way, Hillside House and the Fighting Back Mentor Program. Past boards served include Girl Scouts and the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation. For relaxation, Jim’s hobbies include travel, tennis, and hiking.\n\nSpeaker – Matt Kolb\nMatt’s current position is President of National Coatings Corporation, headquartered in Camarillo, where he is responsible for day to day operations, setting goals and driving performance. \n\nPrior to that, Matt held Senior Manager positions within the Big 5 Management Consulting Industry for 10 years. He was a senior member of a National Strategic Cost Management team that serviced clients on a worldwide basis, spoke at conferences, contributed to articles and industry publications which include: Cornerstones in Decision Making and Global Lessons in Activity Based Management. For the 15 years prior to consulting, he worked for 3M Co, Harris Corporation and Power-One.\n\nSpeaker - Henry Dubroff\nHenry is the editor and publisher of Pacific Coast Business Times. He is the president and majority owner of the newspaper's parent company, Pacific Coast Business Times Inc., which he founded in 1999.\n\nAmong financial journalists, Dubroff is known as one of the nation's leading experts in local business news operations. He was the business editor of The Denver Post from 1988 until 1995, and he served as part of a management team that rescued The Post from near bankruptcy in one of the most successful turnarounds in the newspaper industry. From 1995 until 1999, he was the editor of The Denver Business Journal, a weekly newspaper that covers business in Colorado's fast-growing economy.\n\nDubroff is a past president of SABEW and he co-chaired a successful effort to raise $1.1 million for an endowed chair in business journalism at the University of Missouri. He also serves as publisher of "The Business Journalist," SABEWs professional journal. He graduated from Lafayette College in 1972 and earned a Master's Degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in 1982. \n\nHe is active in a number of professional and community organizations including Junior Achievement, the Central Coast Venture Forum, Ventura County Economic Development Association, UCSB Economic Forecast Project and Technology Advisory Board of California State University Channel Islands.
